Neutron Beams

RTP have four neutron beams (NBs) with 15 cm in diameter each (Figure 7).

One of these NBs is tangent (BP2) to the reactor core, while three other NBs (BP 1, BP3 & BP4) form a radius to the reactor core. BP1 & BP3 stop at the outside of the core reflector, while BP4 penetrates the graphite reflector and continues to the inside of the wall near the core.

NB is used for physics experiments (neutron scattering, neutron diffraction and etc.) as well as neutron radiography.
