INTRA MOSTI X RAY COLLABORATION
BANGI, AUG 21st, 2023: A collaboration on the National Nanotechnology Lab Network Initiative Seminar on Advanced X-Ray Characterization Techniques for Nanomaterials 2023 between the Malaysian Nanotechnology Center (NNC) of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), the Malaysian Nanotechnology Association (MNA), the Malaysian Nuclear Association (MNS), and the Malaysian Nuclear Agency (Nuclear Malaysia) took place in Nuklear Malaysia recently. Deputy Chief Secretary (Technology Development), MOSTI, Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohd Nor Azman Hassan, was present for opening the two-day seminar, on August 21 - 22.
Also present were Dr. Rosli Bin Darmawan, the Malaysian Nuclear Agency's Deputy Director General (Research and Technology Development), Ts. Dr. Ishak bin Mansor, Senior Director (Commercialization and Technology Planning), Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Ruslinda A. Rahim, the Director of the National Nanotechnology Center (MOSTI), Prof. Dr. Mansor Ahmad President, the President of the Malaysian Nanotechnology Association (MNA), and Dr. Abdul Aziz Bin Mohamed, the President of the Malaysian Nuclear Association (MNS).
Exposure to safety procedures and skill development in the operation on x-ray techniques and resources is one of the seminar's goals. Small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering (SWAXS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) were equipment used in the seminar, in both theoretically and practically. This seminar also aligns with strategies that call for fostering collaborations and improving infrastructure as well as R&D facilities to provide world-class facilities.
