Samples can be in solid form and liquid from powder samples need to be fine particles to get homogeneous results. Extra charges are applied for specific sample preparation (grind, sieve and pellet press).

Samples could be in solid, liquid or thin film. A coarse sample should be ground to get fine particles. For thin film thickness measurement, the thickness shall be not less than 1000 nm and the roughness shall be less than 5 nm. For crystallite size analysis, the crystal size shall be less than 50 nm.

Sample’s requirements:
Wet and dry samples within the particle size of 0.021 to 704 microns are acceptable. Samples will need to be wetted first using suitable wetting agents such as water and dispersant. Dispersion using ultrasonic before analysis maybe needed to be done for samples that are agglomerated. Samples in suspension form are also accepted for this analysis.
