Medical Technology

Medical research in Nuclear Malaysia has achieved several notable successes. Several products were developed such as material bone graft substitute, Holmium -166 ferric hydroxide macro aggregate (166Ho-FHMA) kit and Sm-153-ED TMP Kit used for skeleton radiation therapy, as well as other radiopharmaceutical products already supplied to various Nuclear Medicine Centers in Malaysia. In line with the National Biotechnology Policy, Nuclear Malaysia has also intensified its R&D in biotechnology such as in the development of herbal and natural products for medicinal and cosmetics use, development of monoclonal antibody, blood products, biomaterials, and pharmaceutical technology.
