About us RAYMINTEX plant is a pilot plant dedicated to the prevulcanisation of natural rubber latex by using gamma radiation. In general, it can be used to irradiate any liquid for the purpose of gamma radiation curing or degradation. The plant was commissioned in March 1996. It is capable of preparing radiation prevulcanised natural rubber latex (RVNRL) up to 6000 tonnes annually, if loaded with 1MCi of radioactive source cobalt-60, to be supplied to natural rubber latex-dipped product industries for the purposes of promotional , commercialization and technology transfer. It has been certified to Quality Management System Ms ISO 9001: 2000 since year 2003.

Product Irradiation Services:

Currently RAYMINTEX Plant is used to prepare RVNRL which is suitable for production of gloves, balloons, baby teats and many other dipped products readily exploited by the users.

RVNRL stored in metal drums and ready for delivery to customer.

Typical products produce by customer using RVNRL:

Gloves made from RVNRL.

Finger cots made from RVNRL.

Balloons made from RVNRL

Potential products

Any liquid for curing or degradation by gamma radiation.

Advantages of RVNRL:

1. a)       Better latex stability (longer shelf life possible)
2. b)       Lower modulus (suit requirement of certain applications)
3. c)       Less or absence of toxicity problem (free from nitrosamines and accelerators induce allergies)
4. d)       Better clarity of products (better colouration)
5. e)       Cleaner industrial effluents (less environmental pollution)
6. f)        Lower ash content (less environmental pollution)
7. g)       Absence or lower acid combustion gases (safer disposal of used products)
