What is non-ionizing radiation?

    Non-ionizing radiation is any electromagnetic radiation that does not "ionize an atom", and ultrasonic as well as sonic radiation. "Ionizing an atom," means removing an electron from the atom. Energy that is absorbed from an electromagnetic field in the process of removing an electron, is only absorbed or in "quanta" or packages of energy, which are directly related to the wavelength and frequency of the electromagnetic radiation.
